Is an American television set centered on book and the motion picture of the same name starring Howard Rollins while the police detective, and Carroll O'Connor since the snowy police chief William Gillespie Virgil Tibbs. This was broadcast on NBC from 1988 until 1992, and then on CBS until 1995. Its producers were Carroll O'Connor, Juanita Bartlett and Fred Silverman. TGG Direct released the very first season of the series to DVD on August 28, 2012.
