Sue Ellen Crandell is a girl who cannot wait for her mother to leave for the duration of the summer. Sue Ellen may go out and have a good time without worrying about her rowdy younger siblings as long as the babysitter is on the job. However, the babysitter suddenly passes away, leaving the Crandell family in a financial bind. Sue Ellen is able to land a dream job in the fashion industry by exaggerating both her age and her level of expertise on her resume. However, while her younger siblings are having fun, she is learning the drawbacks of maturity.
