Edith Walks
Edith Walks is a 60-minute-66-second feature film inspired on a walk from Waltham Abbey in Essex to St Leonards-on-Sea in East Sussex through Battle Abbey. The film chronicles a memorial trip to Edith Swan Neck. As the crow flies, the 108-mile voyage allows the audience to ruminate on all things Edith. A chat between Alan Moore, Iain Sinclair, and Edith Swan Neck in Northampton also plays a significant role in the unfolding'story'. With photos captured with digital super 8 iPhone cameras and sound recorded on a specially designed music box equipped with a boom microphone, the film unfolds chronologically but in an entirely random manner. Numerous interactions and spontaneous performances en route serve as confirmation, as if needed, that the troop was being watched over by angels of chance, with EDITH serving as their hallucination.
