Max and the Junkmen
Max is a detective in Paris. He is aloof, rich on his own, and frustrated by gangs of robbers he can't catch. He decides to get a group of small-time thieves led by an old friend to rob a bank so he can get his reputation back and save face. Max gets information from a captain who doesn't want to give it to him, and Max starts spending nights with Lilly, a prostitute who is dating the leader of the group. He pretends to be a wealthy banker and tells Lilly to think about her future. He makes a suggestion about a paycheck that comes through his bank. The plan works, the small-time thieves think they are ready for a big score, and the police are in place. What could go wrong with Max's cool plan? Who's trapped?
