Roald Dahl's Esio Trot
Mr. Hoppy is just a timid older man who lives independently in a condo building. For so many years, he was secretly in love with Mrs. Silver, a lady who resides underneath him. Mr. Hoppy often leans across his balcony and buys thoughtful conversation with Mrs. Silver, however he's too timid to reveal how he feels. Mr. Hoppy wants to express his feelings to Mrs. Silver, however they can never bring his lips to shape the exact language. Mrs. Silver includes a little pet tortoise, Alfie, whom she loves very muchbetter. One morning, Mrs. Silver cites to Mr. Hoppy that although she's already established Alfie for all years, her pet has only grown a tiny bit, and it contains gained only 3 oz in weight. She confesses she wants she knew of a way to get her little Alfie grown to a larger, more dignified tortoise. Mr. Hoppy unexpectedly thinks of a way to provide Mrs. Silver her wish and win her affection.
