Space Battleship Yamato
Five years after the Gamilons began an invasion of Earth, the planet has been contested by the aliens' bombs. The remnants of humanity have fled underground to flee the irradiated surface. 1 afternoon, a capsule sent from the planet Iscandar that informs of a system that could get rid of the radiation from the planet's surface is discovered by former pilot Susumu Kodai. The Earth Defense Force re-builds the battleship Yamato with a kind of propulsion system to create in hopes of saving the planet earth to Iscandar. Within a year, rays will induce the rest of humanity.
