The Love of Jeanne Ney
The Reds and Whites are still fighting in the Crimea, and Jeanne realizes that the man she loves is a Bolshevik (when he kills her father). She returns to Paris, penniless, to work for her uncle. Andreas, her lover, arrives in France soon after to gather the sailors in Toulon. Khalibiev, a thief, traitor, and libertine, is also attempting to seduce Jeanne. His scheming, Jeanne and Andreas' naivety, and a stolen diamond push the lovers to the verge of disaster.
