The entire movie is set in the beautiful English countryside of the Vale of the White Horse in Oxfordshire. The story of the building of Tortoise inlove could become a film in itself. The whole village of Kingston Bagpuize in Oxfordshire was involved from the building of the film. Young mums helped with advertising and design and the sales. Retired folk provided stewards along with the drivers and props and logistics support. Even the Women's Institute organized a phenomenal campaign along with the cast and crew were lodged in village homes through the duration of the shoot.
