This could be the narrative of Dame Barbara Windsor, the Cockney kid having talent and a smile . Preparing to play from the theatre one day in 1993 chirpy blonde Babs recounts the events and people which have shaped her life and livelihood from 1943 to 1993 over five years. She contemplates her lonely youth and WWII evacuationher decision to go from Barbara Ann Deeks to Barbara Windsor - motivated by the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, her complicated relationship with her fatherher doomed marriage to Ronnie Knight, shooting the attention of Joan Littlewood and becoming the blonde bombshell from the Carry On films.
