At August of 20XX, a portal to a parallel universe, known as the"Gate," suddenly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Soldiers and monsters poured outside of this portal site, turning on the shopping district. The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force instantly took actions and pushed the fantasy monsters straight back to the"Gate." To ease discussions and prepare yourself for future fights, the JGSDF discharged the Third Reconnaissance Team into the"Special Region" at the other side of this Gate. Youji Itami, a JSDF officer together with a 33-year-old otaku, was appointed as the Team's leader.
