How to Buy a Friend
The high school senior Park Chan-Hong is just like any other kid. He's a gifted writer whose parents are always on him to focus on school. Not that Park Chan-Hong has any concrete aspirations or anything. He knows Eom Se-Yoon, a fellow high school student. Her popularity extends to the classroom. Heo Don-Hyeok, meantime, is a classmate of Park Chan- Hong's. Heo Don-Hyeok has no desire to further his education and must therefore work to cover his bills. In one incident, Heo Don-Hyeok defends Park Chan-Hong from a tyrannical classmate. Heo Don-Hyeok approaches Park Chan-Hong to borrow 300,000 won ($270 USD) so that he can pay his rent. To put it another way, Park Chan-Hong gives him a loan, but he needs at pay the tuition to a private institute. Park Chan-Hong no longer has plans for the time after school. As time goes on, he spends more and more time with Heo Don-Hyeok.
