A Resistance
YU Gwan-sun is imprisoned during Japanese colonial control for organizing the March 1 Movement, a nonviolent pro-independence demonstration. YU is undeterred, and she rallies her fellow convicts to fight Japan. The Japanese security head detects resistance, entices a convict to discover YU Gwan-involvement, sun's and tortures her as a result. Gwan-sun afterwards acts as if he is obeying the Japanese while secretly plotting another independence movement. This movement extends from the prison to the streets, and YU is brutally tortured once more. Her spirit is more liberated and free than ever, even though she dies two days before she is to be released.
