Aftershock
Every year, the maternal health system in the United States fails an alarmingly disproportionately high number of African American women. It was possible to avoid the difficulties that led to the deaths of Shamony Gibson and Amber Rose Isaac, two pregnant women who were full of life and excitement. Now, their partners and families are resolute in their efforts to raise awareness about this terrible yet generally disregarded epidemic.
