During World War I, the Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa wants studios to film his battles with the army of Porfirio Diaz to raise money for guns and ammunition. It's D.W. Griffith, who runs the Mutual Film Corporation, who is interested in the idea and sends filmmaker Frank Thayer to negotiate a deal with Pancho Villa himself.
