Ayla: The Daughter of War
In 1950, amidst the ravages of this Korean War, Sergeant Süleyman stumbles upon a little girl that is half-frozen, with no parents no help in sight. Frantic, fearful and on the verge of passing, this woman catches the center of Süleyman, who risks her own life to rescue her, smuggling her into his Army bottom and out of harms way. Maybe not knowing her name and unable to communicate with her, her Ayla is named by Süleyman, in reminiscence of this moon on the night when they met. The two form a instantaneous and bond, and Ayla, almost effortlessly, brings an uncanny joy to the brigade from the grasp of warfare. Because the war comes to a close however, the brigade of Süleyman is told they will return home. Süleyman does everything within his power to shoot him, and cannot bear abandoning Ayla. After perennial failure, he's forced to offer Ayla to a orphanage, but does not give up the expectation of one day. Can the two get back together?
