Carried Away

Based on Jim Harrison's book, "Farmer," which he wrote. When Joseph Svenden was 47 years old, he lived on the family farm with his dying mother. He also taught at a two-room schoolhouse with Rosealee, who was his lover and the widow of his best friend. At the end of the year, when the school district moves into Joseph's town, Joseph will lose his job as a teacher. He doesn't have a college degree. When 17-year-old Catherine comes to class, he gets attracted to her. It was Catherine and losing his job that made Joseph look at his life and decide how he wants to live the rest of it.
