Charles, Dead or Alive

On the 100th anniversary of the founding of a watchmaking company in Geneva, Charles Dé, the founder's 50-year-old grandson, has had it. He talks to a reporter in an unusual way, but he doesn't say much about himself. He gives his family the slip and moves in with a young couple he meets by chance. He does the cooking, reads, drinks, and has philosophical talks with them. Because Charles is so kind, they fall in love with him. A private investigator is hired to find him, and the rest of the family hires one as well. This starts a business takeover that puts his Bohemian happiness at risk.
