Evelyn

Desmond Doyle is devastated when his wife abandons their family. His unemployment and the fact that there is no woman in the house to look after the children, Evelyn, Dermot and Maurice, make it clear to the government that his is an untenable state of affairs. The Catholic Church and the Irish courts decide to place the Doyle kids in to Church-run orphanages.
