Everything Is Cinema
Louis Malle's 1969 documentary Calcutta inspires Chris, a young, independent filmmaker from Kerala, who wants to make his own contemporary remake of the film. He relocates to Kolkata with his spouse Anita, a film actress, in order to concentrate on his documentary. The Corona virus outbreak begins in India as the documentary's filming is already underway, and his producer withholds the money that he had earlier agreed to release. Chris and Anita are confined to their rented apartment in Kolkata as the government-imposed lockdown begins. Chris decides—without Anita's knowledge—to make a movie about his own marriage as a way to release his pent-up anger.
