Exorcist: The Beginning

Having lived through traumatizing events during WWII, Father Lankester Merrin Has a sabbatical from the Church to Run excavations. Merrin unearths an ancient Byzantine church believed have now been built and then immediately buried to maintain evil by the crypt below. The natives think discovering that the church has unleashed a demon, and begin to violently struggle with the military troops. Merrin has to face-off with the demon which has obtained possession of somebody near him, While the village disintegrates into chaos and war.
