Girl Model

Siberia and Tokyo have a robust model industry despite a lack of visible resemblance. GIRL MODEL centers on two central characters: Ashley, a model scout with a complicated relationship with the industry who scours the Siberian countryside in search of new faces to introduce to the Japanese market, and Nadya, a thirteen-year-old Siberian girl she discovers and brings to Tokyo with the hopes of launching a lucrative modeling career. In spite of the fact that Nadya and Ashley have never met again, their stories are inseparably linked. The more Nadya believes that she can save her family's financial situation, the more she contrasts with Ashley's cynical view of Hollywood's destructive impact.
