Gogol. Viy

A mysterious Dark Horseman is slaying young girls in the vicinity of the town of Dikanka, and he has already killed 11 young women. Nikolai Gogol, a scribe from Saint Petersburg, is tasked with leading the inquiry; however, the closer he comes to solving the case, the more fits he has, which cause gruesome images of the dead. When he discovers that the next victim is his beloved Liza, he begins to doubt his ability to defend her and stand up to the murderer. Fortunately, he comes into someone who can assist him: Khoma Brut, a witch hunter who also happens to be a martial artist and philosopher. They spend three awful nights in an old church, reading the funeral liturgy for Ulyana, the witch, and summoning the ghastly evil spirit Viy, who appears to them as a result of their efforts.
