Hearts of the West
Lewis Tater, a young Iowa farmer, wants to be a famous Western author like his hero, Zane Grey. He leaves home to answer a writing correspondence course's ad for on-campus classes, only to find out that the school is just a row of postboxes at a deserted Nevada train depot where there are no other people. Lewis is on the run from the con men who did this. He comes across "real" cowboys, which are actors who are filming a movie in the desert. The man who wanted to be a writer soon finds himself instead acting in Westerns for Tumbleweed Productions, a run-down studio in Hollywood in the 1930s.
