THE FILM HONDROS chronicles the life and career of renowned war photographer Chris Hondros, uncovering the heartbreaking and often shocking stories that lie behind some of the world's most well-known photographs. Because of the events of September 11, 2001, Chris became one of the first members of a new generation of war photographers since Vietnam, driven by a desire to bear witness and document the wars of our time. HONDROS delves into the difficulties of covering more than a decade of conflict while also attempting to lead a normal life in a post-conflict world. It also looks at the unfathomable calculus that goes into making split-second life-and-death decisions — both before and after his photographs were taken, as well as during and after they were taken. Sadly, Chris was killed in Libya in 2011, but his legacy in his career continues to be felt to this day, thanks to his efforts.
