It Was a Faint Dream

In 13th century Kyoto, the clergy rule the Imperial court. Shijo was a peasant girl sold as a concubine. She begins an affair with a State Councillor and the retiring Emperor's brother. A nun who realises she is merely a pawn of the court wanders the countryside.
