Jan Dara: The Beginning

Founded on a Thai novel, the film tells the story of Jan, a boy that grows up in a house lorded over with his dad. Set from the 1930?s the narrative recounts the growing distress of Jan, whose mother dies while giving birth and who's intensely hated by his own dad. Jan grows up with Aunt Wadhis step mother, and he struggles to reconcile his own guilt and longing with different women in his life, for example a woman named Hyacinth, whom he adores, and later Madame Boonleunghis dad's enthusiast who becomes a secret to Jan's sexual awakening.
