Jefferson in Paris

His wife recently died, so Thomas Jefferson accepts the job of U.S. ambassador to pre-revolutionary France. He finds it hard to adapt to life in a country where the aristocracy rules over an increasingly angry peasantry. In Paris, he becomes infatuated with Maria Cosway, a well-educated artist. When Jefferson's daughter comes from Virginia with her pretty slave, Sally Hemings, his attentions are diverted.
