Lou Reed & John Cale: Songs for Drella
A concept album by Lou Reed and John Cale, both former members of The Velvet Underground, Songs for Drella is dedicated to Andy Warhol, their mentor, who died tragically in 1987. To refer to Warhol, his friends called him Drella, a contraction of the names "Draco" and "Cinderella." There are three main types of songs on this album: songs written from Warhol's perspective, songs written in the third person, and songs written from Reed and Cale's perspective, all of which focus on Warhol and his relationships with others. Songs on this album are arranged in chronological order.
