Christopher Gill is a psychotic killer who disguises himself in a variety of ways to trick and strangle people. One day, a New York City police detective, Moe Brummel, is alone and very stressed. The strangler starts calling and they form a strange friendship. Kate Palmer is a swinging, hip tour guide who sees the strangler leave her dead neighbor's apartment and wants to find the detective who killed him. She wants to meet him. Moe's live-in mother wants her son to be a successful Jewish doctor like his big brother, like he was when he was younger.
