Leon, who spent his adolescence in and out of foster care, comes home at the age of nineteen to care for his drunken mother and adjust to adult life. Leon finds refuge in the boxing ring, despite his lack of schooling and terrible financial prospects. Soon after, he meets Twiggy, a rebellious and gorgeous young woman who is squatting in abandoned buildings to get away from her wealthy family. As riots erupt in the streets and police and demonstrators overwhelm Leon's neighborhood, he must choose between fighting alongside his friends or seeking a new life with Twiggy.
