Painted Woman
'Painted Woman,' based on the novel "Mustanger and the Lady" by Dusty Richards, tells the life of Julie Richards, a legendary cowgirl. Julie is a woman of her time. She has been passed from person to person in a web of abuse and prostitution, ending up at the feet of Kyle Allison, who is a man. A wealthy Goldfield businessman named Allison adopted Julie as his prized possession and turned her into a prized possession of his own. The gift of being cared for and the burden of more abuse came with this life. In the midst of Julie's tumultuous relationship with Allison, she is given the opportunity to leave with two very different men. Two distinct chapters in Julie's life are depicted in PAINTED WOMAN; one mirrors the other. The story begins with Julie and Frank's first encounter. Town of Goldfield tells it largely at night. The Mustanger is the focus of Chapter 2. The story takes place in the outdoors and is mainly told during the daytime.
