Patti Smith: Electric Poet
Patti Smith comes in New York at the age of 20 and immediately begins to disrupt the norms of rock, poetry, and genre. Without even participating, she has achieved legendary status. She is also a musician and an actress. Also militant. An artist who has lived a thousand lives and is 74 years old at this point. The life of Patti Smith is examined in detail throughout the documentary. First and foremost, childhood, and the artist who says: "I aspired to be an extraordinary person. I felt detached. I didn't just feel disconnected from the world, but from other children as well. Throughout my childhood, I was certain that I came from another planet." Growing up in rural New Jersey, Patti was taught the Jehovah's Witness faith by her mother. Patti Smith, however, abandons the trend because it doesn't fit with her creative goals.
