Pickpocket

Michel decides to try his hand at pickpocketing on the spur of the moment and is promptly jailed. The death of his mother occurs within a few months of his release, and against the opposition of his only friend Jacques and Jeanne, Michel links up with a pair of petty thieves in order to advance in his trade. Although Michel tries to find a legitimate work while being watched by a police inspector, the urge to steal is too strong to resist.
