Prick Up Your Ears

Stephen Frears directs this drama focusing on British playwright Joe Orton, shown in flashback after his murder Kenneth Halliwell. Born in the English Midlands, John'Joe' Orton moves to London in 1951, to study at RADA, and appreciates an openly gay relationship with Halliwell inside their renowned Islington apartment in the 1960s. But when Orton accomplishes spectacular success with such plays 'What the Butler Saw' and'Loot', Halliwell begins to feel alienated and the future of the pair looks uncertain.
