Save the Cinema

The documentary film Save The Cinema is based on the real-life experiences of Liz Evans, a hairdresser and the head of a youth theater in Carmarthen, Wales. In 1993, Liz Evans initiated a campaign to prevent the Lyric theater from being shut down. They approached Steven Spielberg for assistance, and with the assistance of Richard Goodridge, who was serving as Mayor of Carmarthen at the time (although in the movie, this function is played by a local councillor), they were successful in getting a special premiere of Jurassic Park.
