Solarbabies

At a long run in we find a group of kids, mostly teenagers, who are living at an orphanage, run by the despotic rulers of the newest Earth. The group under consideration plays with a baseball established game and is quite good. It has given them a unity which exceeds the efforts to bring them by the government to heel. Locating an orb of power that is special, they find it has unusual effects on these. They escape from the orphanage (on skates) and decide to attempt to cross the wasteland searching for a place they are able to live free as the stormtroopers seek out these and the orb.
