Tetsuo II: Body Hammer
Shinya Tsukamoto directed the 1992 Japanese science fiction/horror film Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. Tatsuo: The Iron Man is a big-budget remake of the director's 1989 film Tetsuo: The Iron Man, which uses the same themes and ideas (a Japanese salaryman, played by cult actor Tomorowo Taguchi, finds his body transforming into a weapon through sheer rage after his son is kidnapped by a gang of violent thugs.) Despite the fact that it did not receive as warm of a reception as its predecessor, it did win the Critic's Award at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in February 1992.
