The Accidental Witness

One of Brunel Global Securities' most senior partners is Victor Sandeman. He's in deep trouble financially, but the $100 million merger of the company he's in talks to join could provide a solution. Company founder and CEO Raymond Brunel is opposed to the merger. Raymond Brunel's grandson and heir apparent, David Brunel, is an inept manager, so Victor murders Raymond in order to proceed with the planned merger, believing that he can outpower him. Christine Sternwald, a potential witness, is the lone hiccup in the murder investigation so far. Three years after being assaulted, paralegal and future lawyer Christine is just starting to put her life back together. In a fender bender with Victor driving Raymond Brunel's automobile, Victor is compelled to identify himself to Christine as Raymond Brunel after the murder.
