The Assault

Saturday 24th. Four GIA terrorists hijack an Air France A300 Airbus at the Algiers airport. The Airbus has passengers up to speed. No one knows just what the terrorists' intentions are, just that they are extremely determined and armed. They require the liberation of the"brothers in arms" and want the aircraft to takeoff at the same time. After intense and lengthy negotiations between the French and Algerian authorities, the plane is allowed to remain. There are three chief characters at the core of the actions: a member of this GIGN,'' Carole Jeanton, an ambitious technocrat keen to do anything needed to realize personal profit from the events, and Yahia Abdallah, a determined jihadist who grew up in the slums of Algiers and was being manipulated by an vague GIA envoy, Ali Touchent.
