Sam Dalmas witnesses a struggle between a young woman and a figure within a art gallery while walking home one evening. Dalmas attempts to intervene but has been captured between the gallery glass doors, which makes the woman bleeding. Questioned by the authorities, the shocked author attempts to recall every detail concerning the incident.
