The Spirit of the Beehive
In the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, Ana, a sensitive seven-year-old girl in a gigantic Spanish hamlet is traumatized after having a travel projectionist screens a publish of James Whale's 1931"Frankenstein" for the village. The kid is disturbed by the scenes in which the villagers murders the little girl and later kill the monster himself. She questions her sister about the profundities of life and death and believes her older sister when she tells her that the monster is not dead, but is as a spirit inhabiting a nearby barn. When a nurse from Franco army, a Loyalist soldier, hides out in the barn,'' Ana strikes from reality.
