Van Gogh
Vincent moves to Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris, in the late spring of1890, under the care of Dr. Gachet, residing in a modest inn. In less than seventy days, Vincent commits suicide by shooting himself in the head. We see Vincent while he paints landscapes and portraits. Theo, Johanna, and their child pay a visit to Auvers. Vincent is pleasant and lively, attracting the interest of Gachet's daughter Marguerite (who is half his age), a young inn maid, a Parisian prostitute named Cathy, and Johanna. Vincent visits Paris shortly before his death, where he quarrels with Theo, disparages his own art and accomplishments, dances at a brothel, and is alternately warm and cold toward Marguerite.
