When a City Rises
The frequently very young activists of Hong Kong's democratic movement are just as diverse as the young people of the rest of the globe behind the gas masks they wear during demonstrations. However, they are united in their desire for freedom and democracy. They have the will to fight and the courage to do so, and they can see that things are heading in the wrong direction in the small island city, which officially has autonomy under China but is now tightening its grip and demanding that "troublemakers" be put away or silenced. They can see that things are going in the wrong direction because they can see that things are going in the wrong direction in the small island city. We meet a student who is 21 years old, a teenage couple, and a new parent all in the midst of the violent demonstrations.
