Another World
The following World is a American television soap opera which ran on NBC for 35 years from May 4, 1964 to June 25, 1999. Set in the fictional town of Bay City, the show in its first years opens with announcer Bill Wolff intoning its epigram,"we don't live within this world independently, but in a thousand other worlds," which Phillips said represented that the gap between"the universe of events we dwell in, and the entire world of feelings and dreams we strive for." The other World focused less on the drama of life as seen from soap operas, and more on melodrama between categories of distinct classes and philosophies.
