Barrier Master

Yellow Tanabe is the author and illustrator of the eerie manga Kekkaishi. From 2003 until2011, it was serialized in Shogakukan's manga magazine Shnen Sunday, and Viz Media licensed it for a North American English-language publication. Sunrise turned it into a 52-episode anime series, which aired between October 2006 and February 2008. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs to opposing kekkai user families, must protect their school from ghosts drawn to the hallowed soil on which it is situated. For shnen manga, Kekkaishi won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2007.
