Celebrity Deathmatch
Celebrity Deathmatch is a claymation TV show in which famous people wrestle each other in a ring. The loser almost always dies in a horrible way. It was known for how much blood was used in each match and how bad the injuries looked. Eric Fogel made the show, and the pilots aired on MTV on January 1 and 25, 1998. The first series ran for 75 episodes from May 14, 1998, to October 20, 2002. One special, "Celebrity Deathmatch Hits Germany," did not count toward the total number of episodes. It aired on June 21, 2001. Stone Cold Steve Austin, a pro wrestler, gave his animated self a voice as a guest commentator. MTV said early in 2003 that they were making a movie based on the show, but by the end of that year, the project was canceled. In 2005, MTV2 said that the show would come back as part of their "Sic 'Em Friday" block of shows. The show was supposed to come back in November 2005, but the premiere was moved to June 10, 2006, as part of a new "Sic'emation" block with Where My Dogs At and The Adventures of Chico and Guapo, two other animated shows. Cuppa Coffee Studios made the show's fifth season, and the premiere drew more than 2.5 million viewers, making it MTV2's most watched season premiere ever.
