Countdown
Count down is a British game series involving word and number puzzles. ITV Studios produce it and broadcast on Channel 4. Nick Hewer, assisted by Rachel Riley, using regular lexicographer Susie Dent presents it. This was the first programme to be aired on Channel 4, and 6 7 series were broadcast since its debut on 2 November 1982. Count down is just one of this longest-running game shows from the entire world, alongside the French version chiffres et des lettres, that was running on French television always since 1965. Count down was recorded for 27 Decades.
The programme was presented by Richard Whiteley for more than 20 years, until his death at June 2005. It was subsequently introduced by Des Lynam before the conclusion of 2006,'' Des O'Connor before the conclusion of 2008, along with Jeff Stelling. The present presenter is Nick Hewer.
The show's co host, carol Vorderman, who'd been in the programme since it began, abandoned the series at precisely the same time as O'Connor, in December 2008. Rachel Riley substituted her.
Every programme is featured in by A celebrity guest, and offers a short interlude. Both contestants in each episode compete in three different areas letters rounds, at that the contestants try to make the longest word possible from nine randomly chosen letters. Three numbers rounds, at that the contestants must utilize arithmetic to reach a more target number that is random . And the conundrum, a buzzer round in which the contestants compete to solve a nine-letter anagram. Throughout the string heats, the contestant returns until she or he has collected eight wins. The most effective contestants are encouraged back to the string finals, which are decided in knockout arrangement. The programme in general is widely recognised and parodied, and also contestants of skill have received national media coverage within culture.
