Cybill
Chuck Lorre's American sitcom Cybill ran on CBS from 2 January 1995 until 7 July 1998. The show follows the lives of Cybill Sheridan, played by Cybill Shepherd, who is a twice-divorced single mother of two in her forties who has never received her big break in the entertainment industry. Alicia Witt and Dedee Pfeiffer co-starred as Sheridan's daughters, while Alan Rosenberg and Tom Wopat portrayed their respective fathers. Christine Baranski portrayed Cybill's hard-drinking companion Maryann. Shepherd, Lorre, Howard Gould, Jay Daniel, Marcy Carsey, and Tom Werner served as the show's original executive producers. Carsey-Werner Productions and YBYL Productions produced the sitcom. Cybill, which was shown to tremendous acclaim, was nominated for twelve Emmy Awards and won the 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy. Shepherd won a third Golden Globe Award for her portrayal, and Baranski won an Emmy, a SAG Award, and an American Comedy Award.
