Disco
Disco was a music program which aired from 1971 to 1982 to the ZDF system in Germany. It aired on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30PM, each series running 45 minutes. Shows were produced. German actor and comedian Ilja Richter hosted the series. Its lesser known predecessor on ZDF, 4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet has been aired between 1966 and 1970, presenters included Ilja Richter and Suzanne Doucet. Disco served as a younger pop-oriented audience in comparison to the hit parade of ZDF, and its principal competitor was Beat-Club, followed Musikladen.
Repeats of Disco have been since 1984 as a result of its closedown in 1989, on ZDF Musikkanal on 3sat. Since 2004, the ZDF Theaterkanal aired repeats of the complete series. To broadcast re runs, ZDF Dokukanal began in 2007, starting with episodes from 1975 and repeats of the series have been demonstrated in 2008 on hit24.
The series focussed at that time of airing current on graph hits, giving about airtime to pop music and German Schlager. But it featured many disco strikes provided that these were graph relevant despite its name, it did not focus on disco music. .
