Doctor Finlay
Doctor Finlay is a British television series based on the stories of A. J. Cronin about the fictional hero Dr. Finlay. It is a sequel to the popular BBC series Dr. Finlay's Casebook. It is set in the 1940s, following John Finlay's return from war service. The establishment of the new National Health Service and the modernization of medical practice at Arden House, Tannochbrae, Scotland, are early storylines. Dr. Finlay is played by David Rintoul, his semi-retired practice partner, Dr. Cameron, is played by Ian Bannen, and his housekeeper, Janet, is played by Annette Crosbie. Finlay's assistant, Dr. Neil, is played by Jason Flemyng, and Finlay's new partner, Dr. Napier, is played by Jessica Turner. The series was produced by Scottish Television and filmed in Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland. It aired on PBS's Masterpiece Theatre in the United States.
